AT THE ATTRACTIONS Of course most people visit Florida to enjoy the Walt Disney World Resort to the West of Kissimmee. It is about 15 minutes from your vacation home, very well sign posted & easily accessible from Interstate 4 & Highway 192. The oldest of the Florida Disney
parks is the Magic Kingdom. Opened in 1971 it has the classic Lines move quickly so don’t be put off by a long queue. The more popular rides now have the FastPass® system so you can book a time to ride & return to the front of the line. The Magic Kingdom has enough to see & do to comfortably fill up two days & maybe more. EPCOT is split into two main themes. Future
World has the latest technological
World Showcase is eleven countries laid out around the huge lake. There are shows, attractions & restaurants serving food from each of the countries. EPCOT has an evening fireworks & laser show. It is a full day out with lots of walking which can take it's toll on smaller legs so it may be worth while taking a stroller. Like Magic Kingdom EPCOT has so much to see that it may be worth putting aside two full days to enjoy it all.
Disney/MGM is the smallest of the main Disney parks & still a working studio. Try the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror (left), travel to the moon of Endor on Star Tours or go to 60mph in 3 seconds on the Rock n Roller Coaster (like Space Mountain but faster & much louder. For a quieter life try the Great Movie Ride, visit Muppet Vision 3D or take in the Indiana Jones Epic Stunt Spectacular. Lunch at Pizza Planet, The Brown Derby or one of the many themed restaurants or eat popcorn from the stands & watch the street performers. Disney MGM Studios has something for everyone (you can even play Who Wants to be a Millionaire? in it's full size studio format), it's a great day out.
Main attractions here are The Kali River Rapids (you get soaked), Primeval Whirl is a spinning roller coaster, there are the ups and downs of Tricera Top Spin, the excellent "Dinosaur" or why not try The 3D show "it’s tough to be a bug"? Disney currently has two water
parks & by buying the five or seven day hopper pass you Typhoon Lagoon: Is a tropical paradise until a siren heralds the approach of the tidal waves. These are on not small ripples but walls of water big enough to surf before the park opens (for a price). There are lots of slides, big, small, single & family but all are a lot of fun. Relax on Castaway Creek - the lazy river that circles the park - or snorkel the shark pool (small ones). There are several places to eat & towels & lockers are available for hire.
